‘Friday‘ star Anthony Johnson has passed away at the age of 55.
According to TMZ, Johnson was discovered lifeless in a store in Los Angeles earlier this month. He was rushed to hospital but later pronounced dead.
“Our BH Talent family is saddened about the loss of an amazing iconic legend in comedy, our client and friend Anthony “AJ” Johnson.” A representative told TMZ. “We are praying for all those that were touched by his comedy, acting, but most of all his life. We are especially praying for his beloved Wife, Children, Siblings and Manager.”
Johnson’s ‘Friday‘ co-star, Ice Cube, also took to Twitter to pay a touching tribute to the late comedian.

Anthony Johnson began a lucrative acting career following his casting as E.Z.E. in the 1990 comedy film, ‘House Party‘. From there he secured roles in films including ‘Lethal Weapon 3‘, ‘Menace II Society‘, ‘House Party 3‘, ‘Friday‘ and ‘The Players Club‘.
He also enjoyed ample opportunity on the small screen, featuring in ‘Martin‘, ‘Moesha‘ and ‘Malcom & Eddie‘.
