Ariana DeBose is the latest addition to the cast of Apple’s upcoming spy thriller, ‘Argylle‘.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, production on the film, helmed by director Matthew Vaughn, is currently underway in Europe. The film was acquired by Apple in August and hopes to become it’s own spy franchise, with at least three films in the works.
‘Argylle‘ boasts an impressive roster of castmates, led by The Witcher star Henry Cavill. He is accompanied by Bryan Cranston, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Catherine O’Hara, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson and Dua Lipa.
The film is based on a not-yet-released spy novel by Ellie Conway, due to release in 2022. The premise of the story centers on “Argylle” – the world’s greatest spy.
Jason Fuchs penned the adaptation, which he will produce alongside Adam Bohling and David Reid.
DeBose’s acting career has seen her perform both on-stage and on-screen. Her most notable film role was in 2020’s musical drama ‘Hamilton‘. She is also set to feature in Steven Spielberg’s ‘West Side Story‘ and the upcoming sci-fi thriller, ‘I.S.S.‘.
