Balmain celebrates 10 year anniversary with Olivier Rousteing with a supermodel filled show at Paris Fashion Week.
The show, in the style of a festival, featured music, models, and over a thousand fans at The Seine Musicale concert hall – and may even be more impressive than Rousteing‘s first ever 2019 couture collection.
Rousteing‘s show, opened by Imaan Hammam, featured fashion veterans Carla Bruni, Naomi Campbell, Karen Elsen, Milla Jovovich, and Lara Stone.
Millennial icons Natasha Poly, Natalia Vodianova, Edie Campbell, Precious Lee, Soo Joo Park, and Mariacarla Boscono.
Beyoncé‘s voice echoed over the speakers as she offered a fitting tribute to Olivier. She details some “personal moments” between the two and the honours his diverse vision, and the “new, fresh, empowering outlook” he brought to Balmain.
“I am incredibly happy to salute you on this special occasion in Paris,” she says.
“A year ago, I suffered some painful burns in an accident. Hospital rooms, bandages, and gauze wraps suddenly became a big part of my life—and as I began sketching, I found myself translating those months of doctors and physical therapy into today’s many bands, weaves, and dangling straps.”
Doja Cat and Jesse Jo Stark took to the stage to perform – making the event a spectacular blend of fashion and music.
Rousteing wrote his new collection is about “recovery and renewal,” Harpers Bazaar report.
“Over the next ten years, I pledge to continue to push for more inclusion, more democracy and more openness,” the 36-year-old creative director promised.
“Here’s to the next decade of sharing our joy-filled signature mix of fashion and music with more and more of those who wish to enter into the Balmain universe.”
