Dean Stockwell Dies Aged 85

Actor Dean Stockwell has sadly died at the age of 85.

A representative for the family confirmed that Dean died peacefully in his sleep at home, report Deadline.

Born Robert Dean Stockwell in 1936, from child star to the big screen, his impressive career in film, tv, and on the stage spanned over 70 years.

He may be best known for his role in sci-fi series Quantum Leap, which ran for five seasons between 1989 and 1993.

Stockwell received Oscar and Emmy nominations, and was twice named best actor at Cannes Film Festival in 1959 and 1962.

He famously dropped in and out of his acting career and planned to switch careers by getting a real estate license. Before leaving Hollywood, Harry Dean Stanton persuaded Stockwell to join him on set of Wes Wender’s Paris, Texas.

This role led to him starring in a number of memorable films such as David Lynch films Dune and Blue Velvet.

In 2015, he retired from acting and began making art and exhibiting under his full name.

Rest in Peace, Dean.
