Kanye West has officially changed his name to Ye after a court in Los Angeles legally approved the change.
The 44-year-old filed a petition to change his name back in August, citing “personal reasons”.
The I Am A God and Gold Digger rapper had previously tweeted about his desire to be known as Ye.
“I am YE,” he posted three years ago.

In past interviews, West – now Ye – explained that the new name functioned as an abbreviation of Kanye, as well as a reference to the Bible. His eighth studio album also shared the name.
According to The Guardian, the application was approved by a judge late on Monday, allowing both the first and last name to be dropped.
“There being no objections, the petition for change of name is granted,” declared judge Michelle Williams Court.
Ye is currently undergoing divorce proceedings with Kim Kardashian, with whom he shares four children.
Kardashian and their children will retain the name West.
