Alicia Silverstone, Michael Pitt and Ato Essandoh have joined the cast of the new Netflixcrime thriller, Reptile.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Frances Fisher and Eric Bogosian have also been cast in the project, which already stars Benicio Del Toro and Justin Timberlake.
Producing the film through Black Label Media are Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill, and Thad Luckinbill.
The story, written by director Grant Singer and Benjamin Brewer, will follow a hardened detective investigating the murder of a young real estate agent. His search for the truth reveals that nothing is as it seems, even in his own life.
Del Toro will play the hardened detective, with Silverstone set to portray his on-screen wife. Essandoh will play Del Toro’s partner in law enforcement, while Pitt will play a man obsessed with the murder case.
Silverstone is best known for her role as Cher Horowitz in the teen comedy Clueless and playing Batgirl in 1997’s Batman & Robin.
She currently has a number of projects in the works, including thrillers SHTF and The Requin, as well as Netflix comedy, Senior Year.
Pitt made his mark on Hollywood in the 2001 musical comedy Hedwig and the Angry Inch. He is best known for his portrayal of Jimmy Darmody in Boardwalk Empire and Mason Verger in Hannibal; as well as a number of big-screen roles in Ghost in the Shell and Seven Psychopaths. His last appeared in Apple’s horror drama Lisey’s Story.
Essandoh has enjoyed appearances in a number of high-profile films, such as Django Unchained.. He last featured in Netflix’s sci-fi drama Away, alongside Hillary Swank.
